Yesterday, September 23, during the bloggers’ conference for the movie “Etiquette for Mistresses,” Kris Aquino said that she doesn’t need to convince the critics of the movie to watch it.
“They don’t have to. There are enough people who will watch,” then later on joked and added, “O kaya niyo ‘yun? Confident! No, hello we’re opening in more than 200 theatres. Alam ko na e, mararamdaman mo from people you talk to, from places you go to that there’s ‘yung ano, palpable excitement to watch,” she explained.
Kris also shared that after meeting a couple while she was praying at St. Padre Pio, she realized that even those who are married are looking forward to watch the film and that she can’t please everybody.
“Kung ang misis gusto namang panoorin at dapat sila talagang mabwisit, pero lahat ng mga married friends ko are so eager to watch the movie and to bring their husbands to watch siguro para kukurot-kurotin nila along the way, hindi na ako kinakabahan. And ano siguro life has really taught us that you cannot win over everybody but those who are for you, alagaan mo nalang sila kasi marami naman sila.”
She also said that this movie is her defining moment as an actress.
“Totoo talaga kasi first time nangyari na jaded kasi e, jaded si direk Chito [Rono], ang dami na niyang nakita ‘di ba lahat ng pinaka magaling na handle na niya. Mas lalong jaded ang AD [assistant director] at ang mga DOP [director of photography] at ‘yung mga boys kasi they’ve seen everything, they know the process,”
“There were two scenes na kami ni Kim [Chiu] nagyakapan na lang, sabi ko ‘napaiyak natin sila’ so sabi ni Direk Chito balik ka ulit na ganyan marami kang hugot, ganda. Sabi ko ‘okay direk I’ll try.’ So sabi niya ‘You’ve lived life ah’ siguro ‘yun. I think maturity gives you that kasi you’ve had your heart broken, you’ve broken enough heart so you’ll already know.”
“Etiqutte for Mistresses” will be showing in cinemas on September 30.
