With senator Grace Poe still topping the recent SWS survey as the most popular choice for the presidency in the May 2016 elections, Susan Roces has expressed her gratitude to those who have supported her daughter in the said survey. “Well nagpapasalamat ako, maraming salamat sa kinalabasan ng survey, what more I can say at this point,” she said in an interview during the grand presscon of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. As published in Businessworld, Grace scored 47 percent from the September 2 to 5 survey which had 1,200 respondents nationwide.
Susan believes that her daughter is equipped for her political aspirations and that she supports her in this new venture that she is about to partake.
Was she prepared or surprised when Grace declared her presidential bid? “Bilang ina, never kang handang-handa. Pero siyempre para sa magulang, ang anak mo muna bago ang sarili mo, because it will be very selfish of a parent to be the one to decide kung ano ang para sa anak not unless opinyon mo ay hinihingi.”
When asked if her daughter asked her opinion with regards to her decision, she replied, “Pag nakikita mo na desidido sa kanyang ginagawa, nandito ka lang para manalangin at kung anong magagawa mo para makatulong. Sa ngayon ang aking pananatiling tahimik ang makakatulong,” she said.
As supportive as she is to Grace, her daughter is also in full support of Susan’s new series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, which is inspired by her late husband Fernando Poe’s movie. Susan relayed that Grace and the entire family is thankful that this project is made possible by the Kapamilya network. “Grace and all of us are very thankful to ABS-CBN, as well as Dreamscape.
Kaya parte pa rin siya,” she said.
