Yesterday, September 18, during a hearing regarding Julia Barretto’s petition to change her family name from Baldivia to Barretto, her father Dennis Padilla decided to give up and give his daughter the freedom to choose.
Sabi ko, ‘Your honor, I’m giving the free hand to my daughter to use the family name she wants to use,’” he told Pep.ph.
He also added that after his daughter’s debut they haven’t kept in touch even though he tried to reach out.
“Nag-try akong mag-reach out, e. Nagti-text ako and everything, wala namang reply. Kasi ayaw niya, e,’” he said.
He also added that it wouldn’t make a difference if ever he’ll win the legal battle since he and Julia are not seeing each other.
It was reported before her debut that they already have patched things up but now he said that he felt used.
“Nung debut, masakit man sabihin, talagang ginamit lang ako para mas maganda yung image niya.”
For Dennis, it’s all up to Julia’s decision now and that he won’t meddle with her decision.
