Martin Nievera: ‘Now, singing off sync seems to be the thing’
091615-martin_main.jpgOn Aquino and Abunda Tonight, Martin Nievera explained what he meant when he posted “what’s happening to Sunday noontime shows?” on his Twitter account.

Martin explained it was just his musings because “the themes, concepts are becoming unlike what they used to be.” He, however, knows that it is as it should be. “We have to go with the times,” concluded Martin.

Asked about his opinion about lip-syncing, Martin said, “lip sync is bad but it’s very much needed.” He added, “During my time, 33 years ago, if you sang off sync you would be bashed. Now, singing off sync seems to be the thing you know, yang mga pa-dub dub na yan. It seems to be a craze.”

In Martin’s 33 years in the industry, he admitted to having lip-synced a few times. “It’s needed because TV studios didn't have the sound systems that we have now.” He clarified however that what he did was actually not lip-sync but “I sing over my voice, it’s called plus one.”
