As Nathaniel draws to a close a few days from now, Gerald Anderson said that he has mixed emotions about it. He admitted though that it still hasn’t sunk in that the show would be over already since they are still shooting a lot of intense scenes for the show.
“Mixed emotions siyempre na nalulungkot dahil patapos na kami pero kumbaga parang hindi pa nagsi-sink in dahil ang dami pang nangyayari. Medyo intense pa ‘yung mga eksena namin at so hindi ko pa masyado iniisip pero alam ko na darating na ‘yung last taping day namin, yung last airing namin. I’m just so proud na part ako ng Nathaniel,” he said during an interview at the show’s Binyagang Bayan program last September 15, 2015 in Quezon City.
He added that he will miss the actors and the people working behind the camera. “[Ma-miss ko ang] cast, crew, staff, lahat, kami lahat. More than just ‘yung show, ‘yung people behind the camera, ‘yung grabe ‘yung hard work na binibigay nila. Puyat kami lagi, ‘yung bata siyempre may cut off din ‘yung bata so everybody is doing their best para matapos yung eksena at gawin namin ‘yung best.”
Gerald is thankful to the soap for since it became an instrument for him to extend a hand to those who are in need. “Sobrang daming blessings na nakuha namin at nabigay namin through this show, nakakatuwa. I think there are 50 kids na napasaya namin kanina [sa Binyagang Bayan] and then when we first started sa Fabella (hospital) ang dami rin naming natulungan, nakita at na-inspire so this show had been a blessing professionally and personally,” he stated.
The actor shared he also learned a lot of lessons from starring in the show. “Ang dami [kong natutunan] you know lalo na sa role ko. Sa daming emotions, sa daming challenges, sa daming problem an hinaharap [ng character ko] at hindi pa siya naniniwala sa kung ano ang tinuturo ng simbahan so parang wala siyang makakapitan so going through that as an actor, playing that role, grabe ang dami ko po talagang natutunan [to] just have faith and huwag maging katulad nong nangyari kay Paul Lacsamana (his role in the soap).”
What’s next for him after Nathaniel? “Well ito mamayang gabi magsho-shooting kami ng movie namin nila Liza (Soberano) and Enrique (Gil). Mamayang gabi na po’ yun, I mean mamayang gabi kami magsho-shooting. So after ng Nathaniel [yun ang next project]. Basta this year din ‘yung movie,” he replied. The movie is titled Everyday I Love You and will soon hit the silver screen.
