In cases of love or extra-marital affairs, Dawn said it easy to forgive an erring partner if it happened only once. She also said having to decide becomes more difficult when there are kids involved.
Asked why it is a bigger deal in our country when it is the women who commit adultery, Dawn said it may be because of “centuries old traditions.” She said we are a matriarchal society and it becomes harder to accept when women commit adultery because “usually Nanay ang nagpapalaki sa atin, and ang taas ng tingin mo sa nanay mo.”
Dawn said that for her part, she may give up on a relationship when the man has stopped loving her. She is also willing to fight for her man/husband “hanggang patayan.” Dawn explained, “It’s a life you built. More than just my life, it’s the life of my children.”
Dawn also said of her The Love Affair co-star Bea Alonzo, “she’s lovely, sweet and focused as an actor.
