Cherry Pie Picache talks about moving on from mother’s death

<div><img src='' alt='080415-cherrypie_main.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Almost a year since <a href='https://push-data.abs-cbn.com/push/archive/features/17104/cherry-pie-picaches-mother-found-dead-inside-home/'>Zenaida Sison was killed in her house in Quezon City</a>, her daughter, actress Cherry Pie Picache admitted that she’s still having a tough time moving on.</div><div><br/></div><div>“We’re still praying for forgiveness and healing.<i> Mahirap pero tuloy ang buhay,”</i> she said in an interview during the press launch of newest primetime soap<i> On The Wings of Love</i> starring James Reid and Nadine Lustre.</div><div><br/></div><div>According to Cherry Pie, her late mother would have been 76-years old and still enjoy driving, ballroom dancing, and being independent if she were alive today.</div><div><br/></div><div>The veteran star revealed that there are times when memories of her mother would still fill her thoughts.</div><div><br/></div><div><i>“Ang hirap [mag-move on]. Siyempre unang-una natural naman sa atin ang magalit, gumanti.</i> I mean I’m being honest.<i> Pero diba iisipin mo, kaya tayo magkaiba kasi kami nay Diyos. So ‘yun naman ang pinagdadasal mo,”</i> she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Zenaida’s attacker was her houseboy Michael Flores who confessed after being arrested that he was under the influence of drugs. He likewise admitted that he initially just wanted to steal items from Zenaida’s home, but then the latter caught him in the act and started screaming for help which then made him kill her.</div><div><br/></div><div>But slowly, Cherry Pie and her family are making conscious efforts on getting back on track. “I know this is how she (her mom) would want me to be.”</div><div><br/></div><div>She continued, <i>“Kasi ang Mommy ko balidosa eh. Punong-puno ng life tsaka very positive ‘yun eh. ‘Yung tuloy lang ang buhay ganyan. So I’m sure ganito ang gusto niya na magtuloy kami.”</i></div><div><br/></div><div>The critically-acclaimed actress shared that while she still cares for her late mother, she makes it a point to give value to her loved ones who are still alive.</div><div><br/></div><div><i>“So ngayon, fino-focus ko ‘yun sa anak ko pa rin. ‘Yung my dreams for my son. You cannot lose it kasi may anak ka, parang ganon. Tapos ‘yung sa family. Ngayon we’re closer than ever sa magkakapatid. Ngayon tulong-tulongan,”</i> she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Aside from her family and her career, Cherry Pie has also made it a point to put her savings to good use by investing in a restaurant. Cherry Pie, together with five other partners, has put up the classic Filipino restaurant Alab by Chef Tatung.</div><div><br/></div><div>Cherry Pie is apparently no stranger to the food business as she shared that, <i>“Dati nag-coffee shop na ako ang nag-ma-man kaso tututok dapat eh so nagsara.  I’m just very grateful na dito sa bago malinaw ang designations namin.”</i></div><div><br/></div><div>Catch Cherry Pie, along with James Reid, Nadine Lustre, Albie Casiño, Joel Torre, and Bianca Manalo on <i>On The Wings of Love</i> starting August 10 after <i>Pangako Sa’Yo.</i></div>
