Ricky Lee receives prestigious UP Gawad Plaridel award

082715-rickylee_PUSH.jpgThe University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication (UP CMC) gave the Gawad Plaridel award to Mr. Ricardo “Ricky” Lee, who is a multi-awarded author and screenwriter. This prestigious award is only given once a year to an outstanding media practitioner and it comes with a trophy sculpted by National artist Napoleon V. Abueva.

Ricky is known for his tremendous works in the media industry. Some of the notable films that he worked on are “Karnal,” “Himala,” “Muro-Ami” and “Moral.” He conducts screenwriting workshops and tries to help his students to think outside the box.

Famous personalities like Batangas Governor Vilma Santos and Nora Aunor were also recipients of this award. Gov. Vilma was awarded in 2005 and Nora was awarded last year, 2014.
