Ricky Lee receives prestigious UP Gawad Plaridel award

<div><img src='' alt='082715-rickylee_PUSH.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'>The University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication (UP CMC) gave the Gawad Plaridel award to Mr. Ricardo “Ricky” Lee, who is a multi-awarded author and screenwriter. This prestigious award is only given once a year to an outstanding media practitioner and it comes with a trophy sculpted by National artist Napoleon V. Abueva.</div><div><br/></div><div>Ricky is known for his tremendous works in the media industry. Some of the notable films that he worked on are “Karnal,” “Himala,” “Muro-Ami” and “Moral.” He conducts screenwriting workshops and tries to help his students to think outside the box.</div><div><br/></div><div>Famous personalities like Batangas Governor Vilma Santos and Nora Aunor were also recipients of this award. Gov. Vilma was awarded in 2005 and Nora was awarded last year, 2014.</div>
