Rhap Salazar on people appreciating lip-syncing: ‘I find it a little unfair for me’

<div><img src='' alt='082215-ralph-main.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'>On <i>Aquino and Abunda Tonight,</i> Rhap Salazar clarified what he meant with his July 5 tweet “I hate artists lip syncing on TV.” A follow-up tweet said, “<i>yung iba nagkaka-album pa.</i>” </div><div><br/></div><div>Rhap said it was not the first time he saw artists lip-syncing on TV, but on that day he tweeted his sentiment “<i>gusto ko na talagang iexpress ang nararamdaman ko </i>as a singer.” However, Rhap said his comment is about “the act lang na lip syncing, it’s not about the artist and not the artist talaga.” He went on to say that what he tweeted is general and not personal. “<i>Wala (akong) pinatatamaan</i>.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Rhap admitted he feels that way about lip-syncing because of his frustrations as an artist. “<i>Nandun ang</i> frustration ko. I’m doing my best every single day for the past years in the business as a singer.<i> So naglalabas po ako ng </i>effort <i>sa pagkanta p</i>ara<i> ishare ko ang</i> talent ko sa ibang tao. <i>Tapos biglang may makikita akong artist na effortless lang sila magperform, lip-syncing their songs.</i>”</div><div><br/></div><div>He would not call it “s<i>ama ng loob.” </i>According to Rhap, it may be “<i>pagtatampo. </i>I find it a little unfair for me.” Asked if this “<i>pagtatampo” </i>was directed to anyone specific, Rhap said, “<i>siguro sa mas nakaka-appreciate</i> ng act na iba kesa sa act <i>talaga </i>na singing.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Rhap said he respects the opinion of other people, but he is very happy that he has expressed himself. He doesn’t regret what he tweeted. However, he’s learned his lesson about choosing his words carefully. Rhap said using the word “hate” came across very strong for some people, but he explained that he used the word casually like a teenager would say he hates coffee.</div><div><br/></div><div>On Fast Talk, Rhap says he chooses “<i>galing</i>” over fame and said if there’s an artist he would like a showdown with it would be Jason Dy. If there’s a younger artist “<i>na mapapaatras siya</i>” it would be “Darren Espanto.”</div><div><br/></div>
