Derek Ramsay on ABS-CBN: ‘The relationship never died’
082115-derekramsay_push.jpgDerek Ramsay was all praises for Coleen Garcia’s performance in their new movie Ex With Benefits. The actor also commended Coleen’s good working attitude which he personally witnessed while they were shooting the film. “It’s awesome, she's really committed. ‘Yung nag-umpisa kami ang kaibigan ko dito si Billy (Crawford, Coleen’s boyfriend) pero mas kaibgian ko na si Coleen ngayon. We're all like a big family [sa set] while we're working and she puts on a lot of inputs on the scene. She's really down-to-earth and a really cool girl. Generally the whole experience working with her was great.”

The actor is thankful to be doing a film again with Star Cinema after a few years.  Derek admitted that he really missed working with the film outfit. He attributed his skill as an actor to Star Cinema. “’Yung husay nila [na-miss ko]. They are the best out there. I learned how to be the actor that I am today with the directors they have and the brilliant actors that they paired me with. And I missed that whole thing about Star Cinema and sino si Derek as an actor ay dahil naging partners ako ng magagaling na artista and be guided ng mga magagaling na directors.”

Derek transferred to TV 5 network in 2012 after being an exclusive ABS-CBN contract star. Derek stressed that though issues sprung up between him and ABS-CBN after he transferred, he said that his relationship with the Kapamilya network never ended. He hopes that now that he is working again with the network’s film outfit, he is looking forward to doing many movies in the future with Star Cinema.

“This is for Star Cinema, this is strictly for Star Cinema, but going back to that relationship [with ABS-CBN], that relationship never died. We had our issues but for me the relationship never died. It’s just may mga problema here and there pero wala na ‘yun, both parties have moved on and we're here to work together and to come up with brilliant film or films hopefully and I’m really excited for you to watch this movie. [It’s] very fresh, ‘yung approach ‘yung atake ng directors namin and Coleen is a new face on the big screen and I think she did well,” he stated.

Derek will be making guest appearances on various Kapamilya shows in a few days to promote the film. “ABS(CBN) was kind enough to invite me to promote the movie, in a couple of shows like on GGV. TV 5 has given me permission to guest,” he relayed.
