Ruffa Gutierrez says she's used to her mom Annabelle Rama's public criticisms about her
Mother and daughter Annabelle Rama and Ruffa Gutierrez have both been open about their current spat regarding the former's disapproval of the latter's boyfriend Jordan Mouyal.
While according to Annabelle they have yet to fully patch things up, Ruffa maintained that for her all is well between her and her mother.
Despite this, Ruffa in an interview during her recently-concluded Cosmo Skin Soiree at the Fairmont Hotel, maintained that choosing to be with her boyfriend doesn't mean that she's defying Annabelle.
"Hindi. Kung ‘yun ang opinion niya re-respetuhin ko ‘yun and at the same time dapat respetuhin rin niya ‘yung opinion ko," she said.
Will she fight for her boyfriend?
"Hindi naman sa pinaglalaban siguro I’ll just continue living my life the way it is. Hindi naman sa may paglalaban ako na magpapakasal ako, na magkakaroon ako ng anak or magtatanan kami. Hindi na uso ang ganon," she explained.
Ruffa pointed out that, "I’m just working and I’m doing everything that is expected of me as a professional and siguro for my mom makikita naman niya in the end that mali ang iniisip niya."
In a society where parental approval is deemed crucial, Ruffa was asked how she would be able to live with the fact that her mother disapproves of the person she chooses to be with.
To this, Ruffa nonchalantly answered, "Eh I’m used to it na eh. I’m just so happy that even if it’s been a lifetime crisis for me since I was a teenager, I’m just so happy for those that stayed. And for those that ran away, okay lang. It means we weren’t meant to be."
During the same event, Annabelle called Ruffa "bobo sa lalaki" in front of the press.
"Ako I don’t get hurt na because sanay na ako," confessed the It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez star. "But I get hurt for the people that she’s talking about dahil siyempre hindi naman sila sanay. Ako okay lang kasi nanay ko naman siya. But para sa iba medyo nasasaktan ako."
