Maegan Aguilar makes peace with father Freddie Aguilar

<div><img src='' alt='060915-maegan_main.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Father and daughter Freddie and Maegan Aguilar have finally patched things up after a year of estrangement following the former’s transformation to become a “bad father.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Maegan formerly attributed her father’s change in character to his decision to marry his then-underage wife Jovie Albao last year.</div><div><br/></div><div>During a recent live episode of<i> Star Talk</i>, Maegan tearfully apologized to her father on national TV.</div><div><br/></div><div>After getting a hug from her father, Maegan also hugged her stepmother Jovie. While she admits that there still is a little pain following their misunderstanding, she attributed her decision to finally approach the older Aguilar because of her kids and because she’s now on her own.</div><div><br/></div><div><i>“Siyempre may sakit pa rin, hindi mo naman maiiwasan yun, 'di ba? Nandiyan yung pain, kasi siyempre nawalan kami ng pamilya. Nawalan kami ng bahay. Ngayon, itataguyod ko yung pamilya kong mag-isa. Wala akong katuwang sa buhay. Ang hirap kasing mag-focus sa future, 'di ba? Ang bigat ng sama ng loob,'</i> Maegan said. Maegan also revealed that she has parted ways with her longtime-partner Alexander Sanchez on account of physical abuse.</div><div><br/></div><div>Meanwhile, another good thing that was brought about by Maegan and Freddie’s reconciliation was the mending of ties between the former and the latter’s young wife Jovie.</div><div><br/></div><div><i>“Mukha namang alagang-alaga si Tatay dahil tumaba rin, parang ako.</i> Thank you, <i>pero siguro nangyari yung mga nangyari dati, para rin siguro maitaguyod yung pagiging wife mo sa bahay ni Tatay, 'di ba?”</i> she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Maegan added, <i>“Lahat may rason. Lahat may purpose. Pero siyempre, yung sa atin, 'di ba, yung pagkakagulo, ayaw ko pong patagalin pa, kasi hindi mabuti para sa amin. Malungkot din kami na nahiwalay din kami sa inyo. Siyempre gusto kong makita ni Tatay na lumaki sila </i>[her children].'</div><div><br/></div><div>In the end, Maegan shared that the entire spat made her realize that how important forgiveness was.</div><div> </div><div>“Above all, love matters. Forgiveness also. If love and forgiveness,<i> 'di ba, </i>resides in my heart… I will not deny that I missed my Tatay. I missed being in this house. I want to know her [Jovie] better, '<i>di ba</i>? And of course, <i>yung mga anak ko, gusto ko lumaki sila with the lolo,”</i> she said. </div>

Maegan Aguilar also reached out to her father Freddie Aguilar’s young wife, Jovie.
