In an interview with Push.com.ph, Bonel shared that he is currently active with charity work and presently working on his business in Cebu.</div><div><br/></div><div><i>'Nasa Cebu ako merong konting hanapbuhay, active ako sa humanitarian service. Don umiikot ang time ko dahil masaya ako pag nagagawa ko ang ganyang bagay. Wala naman akong anak na binubuhay dahil wala naman tayong lahi.'</i> Bonel is married, but has no children. </div><div><br/></div><div>He starred in various hit comedy movies before and he shared that even until now, people still recognize him more as a comedian more than a PBA player. <i>'Yung mga kabataan na 'yun sa probinsya hindi nila ako natandaan as basketball player. Natandaan nila ako showbiz ako dahil 'yung mga movie noon pinapalabas ulit sa TV kaya nakikilala.'</i></div><div> </div><div>Is he open to going back to showbiz if the opportunity will present itself? <i>'Lagi namang bukas ang pintuan natin. Ang showbiz ang ano lang, timing, kasi ang showbiz parang gulong yan eh lalo na pag ang karakter mo hindi pwede ilagay sa iba. May kanya-kanyang role tayo kung saan tayo pwede bagay,'</i> he replied.</div><div><br/></div><div>Among the many stars of this generation, Bonel wants to work with Melai Cantiveros if there is a chance. <i>'Maka work ngayon siyempre gusto ko makasama 'yung mga baguhan lalo na 'yung mga komedyante sa industriya. 'Yung si Melai, kasi si Melai kasi pagnagsalita nandon na sa kanya ang comedy so nagsalita lang nakakatawa na.”</i></div>
