Daniel Padilla is gearing up for his third major concert dubbed Daniel Most Wanted at the Mall of Asia Arena on June 13. Apart from personally having a say choosing his line-up of songs and guest performers, DJ said the fans will finally get to see him do more of his choice of songs. The 20-year-old said this is a kind of thanksgiving for this fans.
Talagang pinili namin yung magaganda. Gusto ko talaga standard, mga alternative. Ganung music gusto ko. Basta siyempre gusto ma-feel good talaga sila, maging masaya kasi yung music naman hindi drama ito, masaya talaga at sana lahat kayo mapapasaya ko sa mga kanta ko,” he shared.
Part of DJ's repertoire includes Frank Sinatra’s “Come Fly With Me,” James Taylor’s “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You),” and Stevie Wonder’s “Knocks Me Off My Feet.” Sharing the stage with Daniel are Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, Kyla, Nyoy Volante, Edgar Allan Guzman, Morissette Amon, KZ Tandingan, and boyband Harana (composed of Joseph Marco, Michael Pangilinan, Bryan Santos, and Marlo Mortel).
The Pangako Sa ‘Yo star said he is also been thankful for all the support from fans ever since his new soap started. Nakakatuwa,” he admitted.
DJ said he does not feel the pressure to surpass the success of the original series with Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa. DJ said he was happy that the original Angelo is happy for him. So iba yun sa akin, natutuwa ako dun,” he said.
“Wala sabi ko nga dati hindi dapat pantayan or kailangan kalabanin. Bakit mo kakalabanin kakampi mo nga yun eh. Yun ang dapat,” he added during his Most Wanted concert presscon held last June 6 at Dong Juan restaurant in Quezon City.
With his younger brother JC recently signing on as a new artist for Star Music, people wonder why he is not appearing at his kuya DJ's show next week. “Gusto niya concert niya sarili, ayaw niya ng guest. Pa-rock star yun eh (laughs). Kaya naman niya na. Hindi naman artista yun eh, singer yun. Ayaw mag-artista nun,” DJ joked.
Even if JC does eventually venture into acting, DJ said it is impossible for them to be rivals in showbiz. “Bakit kami magiging rival? (laughs) Loko lang,” he added.
Another one of his younger siblings Carmela has also become more visible on social media with Kris Aquino posting photos of the younger Padilla with her son Bimby. The Queen of Talk has been vocal about wanting the two youngsters to do a movie together and has even dubbed them as “the next Kathniel.” DJ said there is nothing wrong with Kris's intentions. “Good. Walang masama maging Kathniel. Malupit yun,” he said with a smile.
But when it comes to Carmela joining showbiz, the Most Wanted performer was very definite about his opinion on the matter. He said this is where his overprotective kuya mode turns on.
