This revelation came almost a week since Evangelista hinted about it on her Instagram following the dinner she and the lawmaker had with her parents Cecile and Rey Ongapuco. The dinner marked the end of the almost year-long estrangement of the couple to Heart’s parents.
"It's not a full blown wedding. We'll just renew our vows," Escudero revealed in an interview with Radyo Inquirer on Wednesday. He noted that the occasion would be held at their home in Quezon City.
The reason behind their plan was simply because "Gusto lang niya (Evangelista), may pictures kaming lahat, kasama ang parents ko, parents niya.”
"Mas mahalaga masaya si Heart dahil matagal na niyang binibitbit at pinapasan ito. Malaking tinik ang nabunot sa kanya ika nga kaugnay nga nang pagkakabati-bati at pagkakayos,’” he added.
During the same interview, Escudero spoke in length what happened when he met his “in-laws.”
"Walang issue, walang mabigat na pinag-usapan, normal lang at naging masaya ang pagsasama naming,” he said.
The lawmaker ended that it wasn’t just a one-time dinner saying that, "Isang araw matapos noon, pinagdiwang naman ng kanyang nanay 'yung birthday niya at nag salu-salo ulit kami kasama ang mga kapatid niya. So all is well that ends well."
Escudero however didn’t give details yet as to the exact date when the renewal of vows would happen.
