A lot of Netizens reacted to Kapamilya actress Isabelle Daza’s Instagram post last June 13. This post was a picture of her and fashion blogger friend Martine Cajucom with a caption “We're here to insta! Lol #siquiWhores #dumagetiton.”The photo was taken on a beach in Siquijor.

Dingdong Avanzado, Vice Governor of Siquijor, released an official statement via Instagram and wants to hear an explanation from the Nathaniel star herself. This was his statement:

“It has come to my attention that the Instagram account @isabelledaza, which appears to be owned by actress Isabelle Diaz Daza, has posted a travel photo with the hashtag #siquiWhores. Before jumping into conclusions, I would like to hear directly from Ms. Daza whether the offensive term #siquiWhores is a description of herself and her companion or a judgment to my beloved people of Siquijor. As the vice-governor of the province, I am worried on how such a foul and offensive word would damage the reputation of the Siquijodnons in the long-run. I believe every citizen of Siquijor deserves a clarification from Ms. Daza on the matter.#siquijor.”

As of today, Isabelle has kept mum about the issue. However, after the controversial hashtag, she again posted another photo the day after of her and a friend in a beach with a new hashtag “#SiquiHOES.”

Her followers defended her and said it was just a wordplay and the actress has no intention to ruin Siquijor’s name.

Isabelle’s latest post as of press writing on Instagram is her reading a book entitled “Brand Aid: Taking Control of Your Reputation – Before Everyone Else Does” by Larry Linne, seem to have relevance with the controversy she’s in.

She said in the caption “How ironic is it that I’m reading this book right now? Lol”

Raymond Gutierrez, who is known to be one of her close friends commented and said “I love how hashtags now become headline worthy, Get your priorities straight!”
