Marlo Mortel says Janella Salvador inspired his current song
050315-marlo_main.jpgMarlo Mortel said he is happy to be part of the boy band Harana. Other members of the group include Joseph Marco, Bryan Santos, and Michael Pangilinan. Harana just released their first single “Number One” and Marlo is ecstatic that it has hit the airwaves. “Happy ako na napasok nila ako sa boy band. Thankful ako na nabigyan ako ng [chance] ng Star Music,” he said.

Apart from being a member of the band, Marlo also has a song under Star Music’s OPM Fresh album titled “M.O.O. (My One and Only)”. The young actor admitted that his Oh My G! co-star Janella Salvador inspired the song. “Masaya ako kasi ‘yung kanta ko dito is my original song so masaya ako na nabigyan ng chance na marinig ng mga tao ‘yung kanta ko. Ang inspiration ko talaga ay si Janella before na everyday gusto ko siyang makasama, My One and Only, ayon po yun.”

Marlo admitted that his friendship with Janella is getting stronger as time passes. “Kami ni Janella we’re getting closer and closer to each other. Ngayon mas lumamalim ang relationship namin bilang Marnella.”

With his hectic schedule, how does he find time to balance singing and acting?
“Although kahit po kasi nagta-taping ako lagi po akong nagpa-practice ng kanta ko. Minsan pag walang taping lagi kaming nagre-rehearse as a boy band so nababalance ko naman eh. Pag may free time talaga priority ko ‘yung group ko at tsaka ‘yung solo career ko sa pagkanta.

Marlo is thankful that his team-up with Janella has been successful and their soap Oh My G is continually doing well. “Ako sobrang salamat rin sa mga sumuporta. ‘Yung Oh My G na yan naging challenge siya sa amin lalo na umaga siya i-air kasunod ng Be Careful (With My Heart) na sobrang taas ng ratings at pang youth talaga ‘yung show namin na Oh My G. Sobrang nagpapasalamat ako na binigyan ng time ng mga tao na panoorin.”
