Asia’s Phenomenal Star Vice Ganda is still on a high over the success of his one-night-only, sold-out concert titled “Vice Gandang Ganda Sa Sarili Eh Di Wow! At the Big Dome” on May 22.
Vice has proven that he remains to be a force to be reckoned with in the concert scene as he once again filled the Araneta Coliseum to the brim. It may be recalled that Vice’s last concert at the same venue was in 2013.
The actor-comedian made history once again as he ticked off a lot of firsts on his career for his fourth concert at the venue. Among them was having the stage at the middle and having a Vice Pogi, his male character, segment.
For this concert, Vice took on his signature style of performance: a combination of banter/monologue and singing and dancing and spiced it up with a little special effects and tricks. Among them were the use of a harness, moving LED screens, and a life-size Trojan horse solely created for the show by Dubai-based designer Furne One.
Vice, in an interview after the concert, explained that he’s still savoring his success.
“Hindi ko alam kung meron pa basta ngayon ito muna. Ine-enjoy ko muna,” he said.
Will he be conquering the Philippine Arena next?
“Ang layo kasi Bulacan eh tsaka ngarag ‘yung parking diba doon sa Katy Perry. Pero happy muna ako rito sa Araneta. Maraming salamat na isang record nanaman ang na-break,” he replied.
Reports have it that even though almost 20,000 people trooped to his show, a lot were still not able to get inside the venue. This incident prompted Vice to be asked if he’s open to stage a fifth concert or a two-day concert next time.
“Nako mahirap ‘yan, akala niyo madali lang mag-concert, ikaw kaya!” he said in jest.
In parting Vice has a simple message to those who continue to support him.
“Salamat lang sana kahit papano natawa kayo kasi ‘yun lang naman ang intention ko eh ang matawa kayo,” he said.
