Ian Veneracion advises Daniel Padilla to study
052315-ian2_main.jpgOn Aquino and Abunda Tonight, Ian Veneracion revealed how he physically prepared for his role as Eduardo Buenavista in the remake of the classic series Pangako Sa ’Yo. Ian said he jogged for about two miles everyday and he also boxed occasionally.

Host Boy Abunda asked him if he patterned his portrayal of Eduardo to that of Tonton Gutierrez’s. Tonton played Eduardo in the original Pangako Sa ’Yo. Ian praised Tonton for having done a “wonderful job,” but said that he would be doing his “own interpretation of the character.” As it is, Ian explained that it wouldn’t be too difficult because he could see a lot of himself in Eduardo and that he has the same disposition in life as his character.

Ian also complimented his co-stars Angelica Panganiban and Jodi Sta. Maria. “Angelica is crazy in a good way. I love her sense of humor.” Of Jodi, Ian said, “Napakabait, laging may dalang diet food na lasang balikbayan box.” Ian thinks diet food tastes like balikbayan boxes because “Wala silang lasa.

Ian shared he is also close to Daniel Padilla, who will play the role of Angelo Buenavista in Pangako Sa ’Yo. He said they would sometimes bond over outdoor activities like mountain trekking. Ian also advises Daniel to study. For Ian,  “Education is the most important thing you can acquire.

The importance of education is also something that he impresses on his kids. Ian also discourages his kids from pursuing showbiz because he believes the world of showbiz is riddled with temptation and “kalokohan.” Ian added that being an actor is his adventure and that, “I also want them to have their own adventure.”
