The nominees for the 38th Gawad Urian Awards have been officially announced.

JM de Guzman and Angelica Panganiban bag nominations in 38th Urian Awards
052115-gawad_main.jpgJM de Guzman and Angelica Panganiban are nominated for the Best Actor and Best Actress respectively for their performances in That Thing Called Tadhana in the 38th Gawad Urian Awards. The announcement was made by the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino President Grace J. Alfonso and its members Tito Valiente, Mario Hernando, and Bienvenido Lumbera at the ABS-CBN compound on May 5, 2015. Cinema One Channel head Ronald Arguelles was also present during the announcement.

Other nominees for the Best Actor category include Robert Arevalo for Hari ng Tondo, Noni Buencamino for Dagitab, Allen Dizon for Magkakabuang, Sandino Martin for Esprit de Corps, Robin Padilla for Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo, Arnold Reyes for Kasal, Jericho Rosales for Red, J.C. Santos for Esprit de Corps, and Dennis Trillo for The Janitor.

For the Best Actress category, other nominees include Nora Aunor for Dementia, Angeli Abayani for Bwaya, Ai-Ai Delas Alas for Ronda, Eugene Domingo for Barber's Tales, Hazel Orencio for Mula Sa Kung Ano ang Noon, Eula Valdez for Dagitab, and Nova Villa for 1st Ko Si 3rd.

Tadhana's director Antoinetted Jadaone was nominated for Best Screenplay. The movie was also nominated for Best in Cinematography. It was announced that Nora Aunor will be receiving the Natatanging Gawad Urian Award. The awarding ceremony will be on June 16, 2015 and will be hosted by Robi Domingo, Angelica Panganiban, and Butch Francisco.
