Bela Padilla gets dream leading man for comeback Kapamilya project
051915-bela_main.jpgBela Padilla is back on ABS-CBN almost five years since she left the network.

The returning Kapamilya star is set to be part of the upcoming TV adaptation of the late Fernando Poe Jr.’s Ang Probinsiyano. Bela will be joining Coco Martin and Angeline Quinto on the soap together with FPJ’s widow Susan Roces.

"Sabi ko, it’s homecoming. My first-ever presscon was in this room, so I started here. It’s good to be back and I’m excited to work,” she said.

According to Bela, the negotiations for her transfer started last year but it was only this year that she was able to make the move.

Parang alam ko naman na this is where I am going. I’ve been planning this for a year. I am just happy it went this fast. I didn’t have to wait for too long,” she gushed.

Bela likewise expressed her happiness that she landed a good project saying that, "I’m just happy that my first project is this big."

Bela is not completely unaware how big of a star Coco is. In fact, she even confessed to following some of his previous soaps.

"Nung sinabi sa akin na ito ang una kong project, medyo nagulat ako. Kasi nung alam kong lilipat ako, lagi naming jino-joke paano kung ang unang soap ang ibigay sa iyo si Coco ang kasama mo. So laging joke  'yon tapos lagi ako, 'Hindi, hindi totoo 'yan.' So parang what an honor na my first show in ABS-CBN is with Coco Martin," she said.

"I think things just fell into place. I'd been waiting for this to happen. Now it's finally here. I'm excited to work," she added.

With her return, the pervading question was: what made her decide to do it?
“There was, but I just felt like I wanted to try something new also. Parang as an actor, I was looking for something else to do. It’s not that I was bored, pero medyo nauulit na yung ginagawa ko dati," she revealed.

The actress who recently turned 24 also revealed that the move was mostly due to her hunger for longevity in the business.

She continued, “Also, I just turned 24, I have to look out for myself. I’m thinking of how long I want to stay here in showbiz and how I’m going to protect my career in showbiz. Right now, this is what I feel is right for me. I’m not saying this is the perfect path, pero for me, I feel like it is."
