Queen of Philippine Cinema Susan Roces couldn’t mask her happiness that many people are rooting for her daughter Senator Grace Poe-Llamanzares for next year's presidential elections.
"Bilang ina, nakakataba ng puso na ganun ang reaksiyon nila," she said in an interview during the media announcement of her upcoming soap Ang Probinsiyano on Monday. Her newest soap is the TV adaptation of her late husband Fernando Poe Jr.'s 1997 movie of the same title.
She added, “Sa isang banda, mahirap na trabaho 'yan. Hindi mo basta-basta pinaplano 'yan.”
When prodded for a comment on her daughter's plans next year, the esteemed actress turned evasive.
"I'm not in the position to comment on that. But as her mom, I constantly pray for guidance para sa kanya," she replied.
She added, “Whatever the future holds for her, my main concern as a mother is her happiness and her safety, and her health.”
In a recent interview President Benigno Aquino III, he claimed that he has already spoken with the female lawmaker. He likewise expressed confidence that she would be able to further the goals that he has already started.
When asked about that, Susan commented, “Sa pinagdaanan ni Presidente Noynoy, talagang sineryoso niya ang pagtatrabaho niya bilang Pangulo.
In parting, Susan emphasized that the President can only do so much on a short term.
