Thai heartthrob Mario Maurer is asking for another exemption from military service this year according to Thailand news site Khaosod English.
The 25-year-old actor has already postponed his military service 3 times, citing his work and classes at the Ramkhamhaeng University.
Last April 7, Mario showed up for the draft at the Krathum Suea Pla School in Bangkok. The Crazy Little Thing Called Love star even took off his shirt for a check up much to his supporters delight.
Unlike in Korea, where military service is mandatory, Thai males who have reached the age 21 must take part in the military draft lottery. If the person picks a black card, it means he is exempted for life from the service. If he gets a red card, he must serve in the military for two years.
The draft officer informed Mario that this is his last year of postponement and would have to pick cards next year.
Mario’s popularity had reached Philippines shores in 2012 and he has done a Star Cinema movie, Suddenly It’s Magic, opposite local star Erich Gonzales.
