With his latest project re-released in cinemas and showing in over 120 theaters nationwide starting February 4, JM De Guzman said he has been nothing but grateful ever since he got the role of Anthony. “Nung nakuha ko pa lang yung role tapos nung makatrabaho ko pa lang si Angelica Panganiban at si direk Antoinette Jadaone, masaya na ako nun eh. Additional bonus na lang yung iri-release pa siya nationwide,” he shared.
That Thing Called Tadhana was one of the official entries of the 10th Cinema One Originals Film Festival and it ran in selected theaters in Metro Manila last November 2014 to rave reviews from critics and very positive feedback from fans.
The Star Cinema red carpet premiere, which was held last February 3 at SM Megamall, was a star-studded affair with VIP guests like Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Vice Ganda, Pokwang, John Prats, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Melai Cantiveros, Jason Francisco, Sofia Andres, Ryan Bang, Ketchup Eusebio, Empoy, Igi Boy Flores, Nico Manalo, and direk Joyce Bernal. The 26-year-old actor said he never expected there to be an outpouring of support for the movie’s re-release. “Masarap sa puso. Nakaka-speechless. Si Angel masaya, magaan kasama. Maganda siya ka-kuwentuhan,” he admitted.
Another celebrity friend who came by herself to show support for him was Meg Imperial whom he admitted to going out on a date with recently. “Lumabas kami isang beses. Magkasama kami sa isang show pero ganun lang. Mabait siya, responsible bukod sa maganda talaga siya,” he said.
In That Thing Called Tadhana, JM plays the role of Anthony, a heartbroken man who believes in the power of fate when his crosses paths with Angelica Panganiban at an airport in Rome. In real life, JM said he is not that going to put that much importance in looking for romance this year. He had already mentioned in previous interviews with Push that he has finally moved on from his past relationship with Jessy Mendiola. “Hindi ko pa nga alam eh. Sa lahat ng nangyari sa akin siguro hindi muna yun yung uunahin ko. Hindi ko siya linalagay sa priorities ko,” he said.
