‘A Second Chance’, the sequel to ‘One More Chance,’ earns a P325 million during its first week.
Kapamilya stars John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo felt very happy with the massive success of their movie, A Second Chance.
In just a week, the One More Chance
sequel is said to have earned a whopping P325 million.
Overwhelmed, Bea told bloggers at the congratulatory bloggers conference last Wednesday night, December 2, “Parang mahirap maniwala agad, nakakalula but we’re very, very happy na tinanggap siya ng tao na ganito and parang we’re very happy na hindi nagkamali ang lahat sa paggawa ng sequel na ito.”
She also said that she is hoping that people will remember A Second Chance years from now like how they did with One More Chance.
Meanwhile, John Lloyd admitted that he was shocked, adding that he was actually skeptical at how people will react to the movie at first. “Nagulat… Kasi it’s a different story to tell so... ako, especially noong natapos na, very skeptical sa magiging reaksyon ng audience kasi hindi ito ‘yung glossy Star Cinema film na usually napapanood mo or pwede mong asahan. And, kung alam niyo lang ‘yung naging process ng lahat sa paggawa nito, talagang kakabahan ka. It was a very personal process para sa aming lahat. After nung takot or gulat, very happy na nagustuhan din ‘yung end product,” he said.
When asked if there will be another sequel, John Lloyd replied, “Ang hirap kasing sagutin because eight years ago, when we did One More Chance, even long after pinalabas siya, hindi naman talaga napag-usapan or naisip kaya lang ngayon parang it’s getting strange kasi parang meron talagang tao na Popoy and Basha na ngayon.”
Nonetheless, the 32-year-old actor said that he is willing to continue the story. “Oo, kasi parang mahirap namang ipagkait especially ‘pag meron na siyang audience at parang talagang meron na tayong Popoy at Basha sa horizon parang mahirap ng ipagkait sa audience natin. Kung deserving pa, kung meron pang material na deserving at kung papayag pa sila na magsulat at kung okay pa si Direk (Cathy Garcia Molina), why not?” John Lloyd answered.
Likewise, Bea said that she also wants their movie to have a third installment. However, she would prefer it to happen eight or ten years from now. “Kagaya nitong nangyari sa sequel. Siguro iba na ‘yung pagdadaanan nila non and siguro mas matured na kami, mas matatanda na kami,” she said.
