The year 2015 has been filled with controversy, milestones, and memorable moments. But more than anything else, it has also been filled with so much love as certain celebrities walked down the aisle to make their promises of forever with their partners a reality.
1. Wendy Valdez and Normann Garcia
Proving that a second shot at happiness is possible, former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Wendy married her non-showbiz fiance Normann in a garden wedding in Tagaytay last December 8. Wendy was formerly married to fellow Pinoy Big Brother housemate Bruce Quebral in 2009. The two, however, officially got annulled three years later.
2. Nikki Gil and BJ Albert
The public has seen her fall in love the first time, get her heart broken and find new love again. With that, Nikki made sure not to deprive the public of knowing about her second love BJ whom she happily married during her November 22 garden wedding in Laguna. The star-studded wedding had the cute official hashtag #KnottingGil.
3. Yeng Constantino and Yan Asuncion
Pop Rock Princess Yeng has had that envious first-love-and-last-love romance when she married her first-ever boyfriend Yan Asuncion via a Christian wedding last Valentine’s day in Hacienda Isabella, Tagaytay. As if this wasn’t romantic enough, prior to their wedding, Yeng even composed the heart-melting song “Ikaw” for Yan which even had them together in its official music video.
4. Cesca Litton and Tyke Kalaw
Another Valentine’s day wedding was that of former Kapamilya host Cesca Litton with her non-showbiz businessman fiance Tyke Kalaw at Eskaya Resort in Bohol. The couple even made headlines prior to their wedding as rumors made rounds that they had a venue issue with then-soon-to-wed couple Heart Evangelista and Sen. Francis Escudero. Turns out both couples reserved the private island Balesin in Quezon on the same date for their wedding. Unfortunately, reports had it that the date was eventually given to Heart and Sen. Chiz.
5. Heart Evangelista and Chiz Escudero
Heart and Sen. Chiz’s wedding had been controversial not only because of the issues about the wedding venue but also because the actress’ parents refused to attend the ceremony in order to express their disapproval of the wedding. Eventually, Sen. Chiz and Heart were able to patch things up with the latter’s parents. In fact they are now even campaigning for the lawmaker who is set to run as vice president in next year’s national elections.
6. John Prats and Isabel Oli
While their engagement has been accomplished with the help of a bunch of people, John and Isabel’s wedding in Batangas last May has been a mirror of intimate peace and serenity. It may be recalled that John proposed to Isabel via a flash mob September last year.
7. Diana Zubiri and Andy Smith
Like Wendy, Diana also had a second shot at forever when she tied the knot with model and businessman Andy at the Sampaguita Gardens in Quezon City last May 10. The couple’s official hashtag #MrandMrsSmith was populated by photos of their friends who attended their wedding. It may be recalled that Diana became a widow in 2010 after her non-showbiz husband succumbed to liver cirrhosis.

9. Mahal (Noeme Tesorero) and Jobbie Hebrio
Perhaps one of the most controversial weddings of 2015 was between Mahal and her non-showbiz boyfriend Jobbie. What made their wedding hog headlines was the reaction of Mahal’s devastated ex-boyfriend Aries Navarro who claimed that he cannot accept that his ex is already married.
10. Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano
Proving that patience and prayers give you the best fruits, after being in a relationship for eight years, Toni finally married Paul on their anniversary day. The couple initially made details about their wedding day a secret but the two eventually tied the know on June 12 at Taytay Methodist Church. The star-studded reception then happened at the Rockwell Tent.
