Kris Aquino is also proud of her son Bimby's work in his second MMFF film.
Before she leaves the country on Christmas day for a two-week vacation abroad with her sons Josh and Bimby, Kris Aquino said she is so proud of her Metro Manila Film Fest movie All You Need is Pag-Ibig
. "Siyempre mas na-e-excite ako
. My super duper favorite love story movie of all time was Love Actually. I think nahigitan nito yun. Kasi di ba yun
mutli-generational din, hindi mo alam paano sila
na-connect connect sa isa’t isa pero
you really feel so good after watching it. Si direk Tonette (Jadaone) kasi
she speaks the language of today. I think ang napapakita niya na espesya
l is that it happens to all of us and then she does it in such a cinematic way,” she shared.
The Kapamilya actress said more than being just a romantic comedy, All You Need is Pag-ibig can also promote tourism in the country. "The majority of my scenes talaga were shot in Coron. Ang tagal. Six nights akong nandoon na na-miss ko yung mga anak ko. Doon ako na-pa-proud din kasi I think this is the only movie now in the festival that will be able to highlight yung scenic spots natin talaga. Kasi yung sakripisyo naman na ginawa ni Derek (Ramsay) na alam ko 30 times siyang pina-dive ng 25 feet kasi hindi ako marunong mag-swimming so siya na lang. Tapos makikita mo talaga lahat ng fish pumapalibot sa kanya. Ang ganda. Tapos si Kim (Chiu) at si Xian (Lim) nagpunta dun sa Kayangan Lake at sa Siete Pecados. Pag napanuod niyo, ma-fi-feel ninyo na ang ganda ganda talaga ng Pilipinas and what a perfect setting,” she explained.
Kris said that her character is the main connection of all the other characters in the movie. "Si Love kasi ang connection lang niya sa lahat ng mga characters is because they were all watching her. The only one I really had direct communication with apart from Derek (Ramsay) is Xian (Lim). Ang ganda ganda ng scene namin na yun na shinoot din sa Coron,” she said.
Kris said she does not feel pressured having to compete with other MMFF heavyweight films like Beauty and the Bestie. "Masaya to be the underdog. Kasi di ba like English Only Please, people had very small expectations about it but I’m working with people with a track record. This movie is not about me, it’s not about the stars, it’s really the showcase project of our director as it should be,” she added.
Even with her youngest son Bimby also joining her in the project, Kris admitted she did not have any problems even when she could supervise him. “Nag-complain siya sa akin the other day, sinabi niya, ‘When I’m shooting you said you were going to make me bantay but in my shooting you only went twice.’ Ang problema kasi nagkasabay yung schedule. Pero ano talaga, proud lang ako kasi professional siya talaga. At parang siguro kung nakita mo yun sa nanay mo na may respeto sa call time, may respeto sa mga katrabaho tapos super gustong gusto niya talaga si Julia at si Talia (Concio). I think it helps pag may bata (sa set). It also helps na super close na siya kay Kimmy at kay Pokie. Nakakatuwa. Nung tinanong ko siya, ‘Bimb, can you sing as good as them?’ He says, ‘I can’t mom. Because Julia has a voice like a Disney princess. But mom I can dance better,’” she said.
Her eldest son Josh has also been a dutiful kuya all throughout this busy work season according to Kris. "Ito na yung kinalakihan niya eh so alam niya na pag napagod yung mag-nanay, lalambingin niya kami, yayakapin niya kami. Like kay Bimbs siya talaga yung nag-volunteer kasi sabi ni Bimb, ‘Mom you better rest because you have fever. So I’m going to work for us and I’m going to go to the SM’s because anyway I’m your son so SM will be happy.’ (laughs) Yan ang kanyang reasoning na okay na daw and then si Kuya sinabi niya, ‘Mama, samahan ko si Bimby para maka-rest ka.’ Kasi tatlo lang kami eh so wala silang choice talaga kundi magmahalan talaga,” she shared.
Watch Kris Aquino and Bimby Yap in All You Need is Pag-ibig in cinemas starting December 25 under Star Cinema. Also starring Jodi. Sta. Maria, Ian Veneracion, Derek Ramsay, Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, Pokwang, Nova Villa and Julia and Talia Concio. Directed by Antoinette Jadaone.
