Turns out it’s not only Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez who is disappointed over the mix-up with the result announcements of Miss Universe 2015.
Miss Germany Sarah-Lorraine Reik made her disappointment known in a post-pageant interview posted by pageant website Missosology on their Facebook account.
During the coronation ceremony held at The AXIS, Las Vegas on December 21 (Philippine time), host Steve Harvey mistakenly called Miss Colombia as the winner when it should’ve been Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach.
“I really couldn't believe it. I was so upset. For me, Miss France is the real winner,” Sarah said pertaining to Miss France Flora Coquerel who did not make it to Top 3.
She added, “I was very happy for Colombia and I think she really deserves it.”
Sarah emphasized that she’s “not happy with the result and so do the other girls.”
The reason, according to her is that, “Because no one of us voted for Philippines. I'm so sorry to say it.”
When asked to clarify about her comment, Sarah refused and added that, “We really like Colombia and we're really happy for her. I just can't talk for my position right now. I'm just not happy with the result.”
Although she’s not happy with the result, Sarah said “I wish Pia a blessed life for her year.”
Sarah also called Steve’s mistake as “most awful situation ever and ever” which is pretty much like a nightmare.
But what if the situation happened to her?
“Like, you get crowned Miss Universe, there's so many feelings and then, you take away the crown, I'm so sorry for her. That's probably the worst ever and ever that happened in your life,” she said.
Sarah continued, “I would have handled this probably, I would have passed the crown, like, be proud. I'm still representing the country and I'll still be proud. Well, the result is the result so... I'm sorry.”
