‘A Second Chance’ is now the top grossing non-MMFF movie of all time

121115-secondchance_main.jpgAs of 7 pm, Wednesday, December 9, A Second Chance starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo has become the top grossing non-MMFF movie of all time, earning P 442 million at the local box office.

During the movie’s victory party which was attended by ABS-CBN’s Chairman Gabby Lopez, CEO Charo Santos-Concio, and Channel Head Cory Vidanes, among others, film director Cathy Garcia Molina got emotional while thanking everyone behind the success of the One More Chance sequel.

Likewise, John Lloyd who played the role of “Popoy” told members of the media that good news like this gives meaning to his hard work. Parang it’s a good day para maappreciate ‘yung mga trabahong ginawa mo.

Meanwhile, Bea who played the role of “Basha” expressed how overwhelmed she is by the success of their movie. “Nakakatuwa na nagbunga ng ganito ‘yung paghihirap ng mga tao behind this movie kasi naging challenging ito para sa aming lahat so it’s a nice feeling,” she said.

When asked what about “Popoy” and “Basha” that draws the audience, John Lloyd referred to Star Cinema.

Feeling ko isa sa mga rason din is, Popoy and Basha being so relatable to everybody.”

Lastly, the two thanked everyone who supported A Second Chance.

“Maraming maraming salamat po talaga. This is too overwhelming. Hindi namin maeexpress kung ano ‘yung gusto naming sabihin in words but we’re really, really going to thank (our) Kapamilyas.
