Robin Padilla reveals that it was a call from ABS-CBN that prompted Mariel Rodriguez to finally have their stillborn triplets removed from her body.
Prior to his return, Robin Padilla’s wife Mariel Rodriguez was the first one to come back to the Kapamilya network some weeks ago through her hosting stint on Pinoy Big Brother’s recently-concluded grand finale.
“‘Yun talaga naman ‘yun kahit pagbali-baliktarin mo ABS talaga ‘yun,” said Robin about Mariel’s return during an interview at his recently-concluded contract signing last November 9.
Although he’s grateful that the network has accepted him anew, Robin is most grateful about what ABS-CBN has done for his wife who had suffered a lot this year.
Robin was referring to the remains of their stillborn triplets which Mariel had “kept” inside her body for weeks “dahil naniniwala siya na baka mabuhay pa.
Salamat sa ABS,” he said.
Now that his wife is back to her home network, Robin shared that she is raring to work on a soap with Dreamscape.
Na ‘yun talagang wala siyang bukambibig kundi ‘yun,” he said.
Will he be open to working with his wife on a project at ABS-CBN?
According to Robin, he’s also amenable for his wife to work with her former leading men so long as there’s no kissing scene.
Mariel’s previous leading men include his former flame Zanjoe Marudo and Rafael Rosell.
Despite everything that has happened, Robin summed up his 2015 with Mariel as “Pinaka-romantic.”
Walang iwanan talaga. Kaya masasabi ko na naging mabuti din akong asawa sa wakas,” he said.
Was he a “bad” husband before?
“Ay hindi, failure ako doon. Pero ngayon masasabi ko, oo [mabuti akong asawa],” said Robin.
Robin was previously married to Liezel Sicangco with whom he has four children.
In the end, Robin shared that plans of trying to have another baby will have to wait for another year as per the advice of Mariel’s doctor.
