Janine Gutierrez says her relationship with Elmo Magalona is going strong.
As one of the muses in photographer BJ Pascual's first book PUSH: Muses, Mischief, and How to Make it in Manila, Janine Gutierrez admitted she considers herself lucky to be part of the featured models along with Kapamilya
cover girls Kathryn Bernardo, Liza Soberano, Nadine Lustre, and Julia Barretto. " I think I can speak for everyone when I say na when you’re in the industry or even when your just reading a magazine, dream mo na ma
BJ Pascual so no joke. I'm not kidding. It's such an honor because BJ is really one of the best photographers in Manila and to be given his time and the space in his book is such an honor," she told Push during the book launch held last November 25 at The Top Shelf in Fully Booked in Bonifacio High Street in Taguig.
With Elmo Magalona's recent transfer to ABS-CBN, Janine said that their relationship was not at all affected by the career move even if they are now working for different networks. "We're doing great. I really don't have anything to say about it. Siyempre that's his decision and his management's decision but whatever happens I'll be supportive. Definitely," she shared.
The 26-year-old actress said she does not see any problem in finding the time to be together and that they have never really had any special formula in making their personal and professional life balanced. "I don't know. I guess we don't do anything naman out of the ordinary to balance it. I don't know (laughs). I'm always with him naman. It's not like a super crazy thing that we don't see each other. I guess it's just also really helpful that we are supportive of the things we do even if we don't do it together," she explained.
Janine admitted that off camera, she and Elmo are just like any other couple. "Normal lang kami. Like we love to eat, we love to go to movies. When we have time, we love to go out of town. We're very spontaneous I guess because we don't really plan these things but somehow they push through and ayun, the usual lang. There's nothing out of the ordinary naman," she said. For Christmas, she has yet to pick out a gift for her beau of one year. "Gift sa kanya? Nag-iisip nga ako eh pero maybe just a small thing lang," she added.
Having recently gotten her own condo unit, Janine shared what her resolution is for 2016. "To grow up (laughs). I guess to be more mature a bit when it comes to being responsible and making decisions. That's why I really got a place for myself para mapilitan ako to do these things. Pero siyempre I'll still like stay at home maybe more often than not but I want to learn to be more accountable and learn how to cook, learn how to clean, like all of those things," she shared.
The eldest daughter of Ramon Christopher and Lotlot De Leon said that even with her commitments in showbiz, she always spends quality time with her parents. "Of course we spend time. We eat together. I live with my dad and half of the week I live with my mom so very normal talaga," she said.
