Elmo Magalona on teaming up with Janella Salvador: ‘We can make something new and fresh’

After signing a contract with the ABS-CBN network, Elmo Magalona is set to team up with Janella Salvador in the upcoming serye Born For You. Elmo finds it interesting that his newest ka-love team comes from a family with a musical background like him. “Kaka-meet ko lang kay Janella this week and I think it’s cool na parehas kaming coming from a family of musicians and it’s cool.” On his reaction when he learned that he will be working with the Kapamilya sweetheart, Elmo remarked, “I’m excited to work with her because ang dami niyang projects na she has so many projects now, but she has time to make one with me.”

What was his first impression of Janella? “She’s bubbly and very energetic, super easy to work with.” According to Elmo, their soap Born For You will revolve around the story of destiny. “So Born For You ibig sabihin magkakaroon ng destiny sa kuwento na kapag pinanganak ka meron ka ng someone who is destined to be with you forever and once in your life magkikita kayo, magtatagpo kayo, pero di niyo malalaman na kayo na pala 'yun.”

Elmo also shared that the soap will also involve music. Elmo is looking forward to singing fresh tunes with Janella. “Feeling ko magiging creative talaga kami kasi I heard si Janella is into old songs, she's an old soul. Ako naman medyo old soul din pero more on new school vibes. I feel like doon pa lang we can make something new and fresh.”

When asked about the reaction of his girlfriend Janine Gutierrez when the latter learned that he was transferring to ABS-CBN, Elmo shared, "Nagulat din po siya na this is going to happen but we are both happy and both blessed because we both have projects. I’m going to have a project soon and she has a project now so 'yun, we’re just so happy. Buti na lang she supports me and I support her also."

 

Elmo signed a contract with the Kapamilya network on Thursday, November 26, 2015. "I can feel the welcoming hearts of everyone here. Well I think it's a real blessing because today is actually Thanksgiving Day and I think it's on point lang how it all happened today. I'm just so blessed and super happy," he said.
