Andi Eigenmann admits she’s in love again

112515-andi1_main.jpgAfter doing movies like Tragic Theater and Your Place or Mine earlier this year, Andi Eigenmann portrays her boldest role yet in film Angela Markado under the helm of Carlo J. Caparas who also wrote the story. The film is a remake of a 1980 classic directed by Lino Brocka and starring Hilda Koronel in the title role.

Andi said she won’t be surprised if people will compare her version to the original. "Nakakakaba kasi siyempre sana mapantayan kahit papaano yung film nila direk Lino Brocka at ni Miss Hilda Koronel nung araw, Nakaka-overwhelm actually. Hindi naman maiiwasan yung (ma-compare) pero hindi naman sa natatakot kasi alam ko din naman na hindi kami puwede ikumpara akasi magkaiba kaming tao, magkaiba yung panahon at magkaiba yung estilo ng mga direktor namin. Kahit papaano nabago na rin dahil naging moderno na rin yung takbo ng kuwento. Hindi ko napanood si miss Hilda Koronel pero magkaiba yung atake na ibinigay namin and I guess that’s why we can’t really compare,” she shares during the Angela Markado presscon held last November 24 at The Music Hall in Metrowalk, Ortigas.

The Angela Markado star was also happy to admit that she has found love again with a non-showbiz guy. When asked if she had a love life again after previously being linked to co-star Bret Jackson (who coincidentally plays her boyfriend in the movie), the 25-year-old actress did not hesitate to answer. "Meron (laughs). But I guess what I was saying was based from my experiences in the past. I was young, medyo masyadong nagiging controversial for some reason yung dalawang relationships sa life ko. Yun nga sabi sa akin pagka may love life walang trabaho. Pagka gusto magtrabaho, walang love life. Okay lang sa akin walang love life,” she admitted.

Andi said that she hopes the public will respect the privacy of her new beau. She did not want to label them as a couple yet. Even before posting photos of themselves on her Instagram account, Andi said she had long since gotten over her on-and-off again boyfriend Jake Ejercito. "Medyo. Parang ganun (laughs). Opo masaya na po ako. Matagal na akong naka-move on sa kanila. Happy na ako ngayon. (Kami ni Jake) we never really got back together but we’re still friends until now,” she admitted.

When asked to compare how it feels to date someone with no connection to showbiz, Andi said it’s too soon to tell. "Hindi ko pa alam kung papaano yung non-showbiz kasi bago pa lang. Hindi pa kami actually. Masaya ako pero I’m taking it slow this time in terms of yung dati kasi yun nga parang wala ng nag-re-respeto ng personal kong buhay, siyempre kahit na artista ako I made a commitment to share my life to the industry but then again this time he’s not in showbiz so I hope that they would respect that side of my life form now on because nakakahiya naman sa kanya (laughs). Let’s respect that he’s a private person. Tungkol na lang sa akin yung mga tanong,” she added.

The Kapamilya actress shared the reasons why she got attracted to her new constant date in the first place. "Simple lang siyang tao, down-to-earth, sobrang we connect. Magkasundo kami in the shallow sense but we can connect also on a very deep level. Which is something that I thought I would never find again,” she explained.

Andi said that even though her daughter has yet to meet the new guy in her life, she knows he has no issues with her being a single mom. "Hindi naman niya ata ako liligawan hindi okay sa kanya. Okay lang yun sa kanya. Pero hindi pa sila nagkakakita,” she said.

Watch Andi Eigenmann in Angela Markado under Viva Films starting December 2 in cinemas nationwide. Also starring Bret Jackson, Paolo Contis, Epy Quizon, Polo Ravales, Felix Roco, Mika Dela Cruz, Bugoy Drilon, and Buboy Villar. Written and directed by Carlo J. Caparas.
