On Tonight with Boy Abunda, Pinoy Big Brother 737 Edition’s 2nd Big Placer, Tommy Esguerra talked about his relationship with fellow housemate Miho Nishida.
The other half of It’s Showtime’s ‘Realiserye,’ Tommy, was asked if he would consider his relationship with Miho as love at first sight. The reality TV star answered, “That’s a hard one. I can’t say it was immediately, ‘oh my god, I’m in love with this girl.’ It just happened over the course of being in the house. Maybe the first two weeks I started to fall, and I didn’t know how to handle it. But I thought she was attractive. I thought she was cool, funny, cute.”
During the course of Miho’s previous interview in the show, she admitted that she has already fallen for Tommy at the rate of about 75%. The host mentioned this to him to which he said, “I’m happy. That’s further than I thought. She’s a tough one.”
Tommy also related his thoughts on his relationship being highly publicized - “it doesn’t matter so much to me. I’m happy that people support our relationship. But there are also negatives to it.”
One of the issues of the fans of Miho is that Tommy is just using her to be famous or to gain further publicity. He clarified, “that kind of sucks, for people to say that, but it’s not true. For me, it doesn’t matter. Because how I feel is how I feel.”
The host then interjected, “so how you feel now is?”
Tommy blatantly answered, “I’m in love with her.”
The reality TV star further shared what some would consider a highlight of their relationship, a harana that occurred during an episode of It’s Showtime. Tommy said, “so I asked the crowd of Showtime what can I do to court Miho further. And they said, ‘oh do a harana. But do it with your fans behind you and surprise her.’ So we did it. But what’s really cool about it is it started raining right when I started my harana. I believe in love, I believe in signs, and I believe in fate. It started raining as soon as I started singing, and honestly, I forgot the song, I forgot the lyrics. I was so so nervous, I couldn’t breathe. I messed up on the lyrics pero the rain starts when I sing and it ends right when I stopped. And I climbed up the ladder, and it was a sign that we’re meant to be together.”
Considering the gravity of his harana, the host then asked, “kung noon sinabi ni Miho na 75% lang siyang nafa-fall, after the harana, in your opinion where is she now? Is that 85 or 90(%)?”
Tommy open-heartedly said, “I would hope it’s 100 pero I’m okay even if it was 20 or 30 because it’s the process of winning her that really is worth it. It’s the journey.”
When asked for a message to his counterpart, Tommy could not muster enough courage to really say what he wants to really say but shyly said, “I don’t know why Miho but, I can’t say it, I can’t say it.” The host then enthused, “I don’t know why Miho, but I’m just so in love with you.” To which, even without any words spoken, Tommy agreed.
