Bela Padilla has been earning raves as “Carmen” in the Primetime series Ang Probinsyano. How well do you know Bela? Here are some of the facts about the returning Kapamilya star.

1. Her real name is Krista Valle Sullivan
Bela Padilla was born to a British father and a Filipina mother; she is also Robin Padilla’s distant relative. When she was still starting her career in the industry in 2008, she used the screen name “Krista Valle” then switched to Bela Padilla when Claire dela Fuente became her manager.

2. She used to be in Star Magic
Bela entered showbiz when she was introduced as one of the talents of Star Magic batch 15 but in 2010, she left Star Magic and ABS-CBN. She then transferred to GMA 7 and Claire dela Fuente became her manager.

3. She was discovered inside the ABS-CBN Compound
In one of her previous interviews, she shared that she got discovered when she was still a student. She went to visit the ABS-CBN broadcasting area for a field trip.

4. Before joining showbiz, she really wanted to be a journalist
The reason Bela was at the ABS-CBN’s compound was because she really was considering journalism as her future career. When she was in high school, she took up journalism as an elective subject and that’s why they went on a field trip at the broadcast area of ABS-CBN.

5. She loves to do Muay Thai
In an interview with Sports U, she showed that she’s not just into acting but also she loves to be in action and was actually starting to learn martial arts when she was still 17.

“Martial arts nag start ako ng 17 years old kasi si Tito Robin (Padilla) may parang gagawin na TV show kailangan niya ng mga bata na marunong mag Muay Thai so parang tinanong niya ako kung gusto ko i-try, pinapasali sali niya kami nanunuod kami nung umpisa…pero nung tumagal na nagustuhan ko na rin talaga. Sa Muay Thai naeenjoy ko siya kasi minsan tingin ko sa sarili ko action star.”

6. Her dream role is to be someone who uses Muay Thai
She also said that her dream role is “makagawa ako ng role that will require me to use Muay Thai since na try ko na siya before and masaya siya.”

7. She won an award in China for being a model
Aside from acting and sports, Bela is also a model and joined the Asian Super Model Contest 2011 and received the award “Media’s Darling” and “Miss Friendship” in Guangxi Zhuang, China.
