EXCLUSIVE: Say Alonzo talks about Ylona Garcia: ‘Parang she’s born to be a star’

111215-SAY_main.jpgAfter being part of Pinoy Big Brother’s original set of housemates, Say Alonzo admitted she is still open to showbiz projects even after giving birth to her baby Asher. "Family muna kasi nag-be-breastfeed pa rin ako hanggang ngayon kaya bitbit ko si Asher kasi ayaw niyang uminom sa bote so kailangan direct siya palagi. I want to go back pero sabi ko sa kanila (Melissa Ricks) sa kanila na yung mga acting at saka drama. Ako mas gusto ko more on hosting na kasi that’s what I really want to do. I joined PBB to sing and to host,” she shared with Push.com.ph during the launch of Starmobile’s Knight Spectra cameraphone held last November 9 at the Edsa Shangri-la hotel in Pasig.

Even after her stint with Pinoy Big Brother house, Say said she is a big fan of the recently concluded season of PBB 737. "Kay Miho and Tommy, I love them.” She said she already had her guess what the Finals Night results were even before it was announced. “I really watched this season. I only watched like sobrang konting PBB na pero ito talag pinanuod ko talaga . Yung (results nung) kay Tommy at Miho it’s not really a surprise kasi their supporters are one. Pero siyempre since mas matagal si Miho doon mas madami siyang supporters. And kita pa lang na landslide talaga yung voting. Actually I’m not really surprised dun sa nanalo kasi parang yung sa teens parang neck to neck yung score nila nung Saturday and even nung pinili yung Big Four nung teens parang ganun na yung standing nila. So nung pinakita yung voting nung Saturday night, sabi ko, ‘Oh my God, it’s going to be a close call between Ylona and Jimboy. With Ylona kasi, even if she doesn’t win, she’s already a star. Si Jimboy naman, siyempre yung story niya talaga namang, alam mo yun, nakakaawa talaga. He’s also talented pero pag tiningnan mo silang dalawa, people will think na si Jimboy mas nangangailangan dun sa prize. Siyempre you know how Filipinos are, and this is just my opinion, na nag-vote sila na Ylona’s already okay and Jimboy needs it,” she explained.

111215-SAY_main.jpgBeing a former housemate herself, Say shared some words of advice to the current batch who will be experiencing the same things in showbiz after PBB. The talented mommy said she already sees a lot of talent with the PBB 737 winners  "Siguro tapos na yung mga challenges ni Kuya, ito na yung totoong challenges ng showbiz. Mas mahirap siya sa tingin ko kasi maraming mga intriga, marami kang not naman ka-kumpetensya pero maraming magagaling. I think kaya naman nilang lahat especially si Ylona. Ang galing eh. She’s 13 years old pero parang she’s born to be a star. I think Tommy really wants to be in showbiz kasi di ba nag-mo-model na siya before? So kaya niya yan. Sa acting pa lang kita mo na kaya niya eh. Jimboy naman I think he’s going to be the next Gloc-9 so pag talagang mag-pursige lang, mag-training, mag-workshop para makamit yung gusto nila,” she shared.

During the Starmobile Knight Spectra event launch, Say also shared that she’s been lucky to have a supportive circle of friends who are also first time mommies. "Kami ni Ara Mina we’re friends na talaga dating dati pa and then si Melissa nakikita ko dati sa ABS-CBN, we say hi hello ganyan. Tapos best friend ni Melissa si Helga (Krapf) so nagkaroon ng isang mommy event and then parang nagka-table yata kami and nagkausap hanggang nagkayayaan sa mga events, sa mga tambay tamabay, lunch and dinners. Tapos may mga nag-e-email sa amin kasi Melissa and I have a blog so may mga lumalapit sa amin and they gave us ideas so that’s where it started,” she said.

In fact, their group is currently cooking up a project that they hope to launch early next year. "We started working on something last week. I don’t think I can say it yet. It’s with Ara Mina, Helga, and Melissa. Hopefully it will launched January or February pero talagang pina-plano namin every detail para lahat walang problema yung sa mga legalities. Basta I can’t say what it is but it’s going to be something good for all ages, not just moms,” she added.

Even though she has not been as active in showbiz as some of her co-housemates, Say said she is still close to a lot of them. "I’m still close with Sam (Milby). I talk to him all the time and then Nene (Tamayo), Jayson (Gainza) and of course Uma (Khouny) who’s in New York right now,” she said.
