According to Mika, the greatest advice she received from her ate is putting her best foot forward when it comes to her career. '[Her] greatest advice is to take your work seriously kasi usually teenagers my age <i>hindi po nagseseryoso  sa</i> work, <i>nai</i>-involve<i> sa </i>scandals and stuff so <i>ayon</i> lang focus on your dreams, <i>huwag muna </i>mag-boyfriend and <i>parang</i> reach your goals, do everything to reach your goals, focus lang sa 'yung g<i>usto mong ma-achieve and don't get distracted and huwag matakot na mag-fail dahil don matututo. And just enjoy, ang pinakaimportante nagi-enjoy ka habang nagtatrabaho ka, you love what you do,</i>' she said in an interview with Push.com.ph.</div><div><br/></div><div>Mika relayed that her sister serves as her guiding light when it comes to her journey in her showbiz and personal life. She shared that she is really close to her sister. 'My sister is really, really nice to me, sobrang close po talaga kaming dalawa and aside from having 18 years<i> na agwat po parang mommy ko na rin siya. Actually she's pregnant po right now. Ayon, I'm excited to have a pamangkin and my relationship with ate super open po kaming dalawa. I talk to her pag may consultations like here sa showbiz industry, siyempre siya na po 'yung veteran so I asked her 'Ate ganito 'yung project i-accept ko ba? Or in interviews what should I say? What should I not say?' Ayon po talaga kasi as an actress, ayon po talaga ang parang reward na makukuha mo 'yung mismong for acting, not for being popular or not for being the most followed artist on Twitter, hindi ganon 'yung goals ko, more on the craft talaga na to act well na ma-portray ko 'yung character ko na maging consistent with my role so ayon po more on awards po ang gusto kong ma-achieve</i>,' she shared.</div><div><br/></div><div>With years of acting experience, what are her realizations? '<i>I started kasi po sa Goin' Bulilit parang I didn't take acting seriously kasi naglalaro lang kami pero as I'm maturing, as nagma-mature po 'yung role na pino-portray ko, na-realize ko po na you really have to focus, you really have to internalize, you really have to get into your character if you really want to be consistent on what you're portraying, ayon po.
