Billy Crawford admits he misses his performer side.
Being a well-known singer and dancer, Billy Crawford admitted that he misses performing but he feels fortunate enough to still be given the chance to do it alongside his hosting stints in the Kapamilya network. “I do miss performing more than anything pero kumbaga I’m just really happy that I am blessed with an opportunity na nasa stage pa rin ako and I still get to do what I do kasi I am given naman the venue na mag-perform sa ASAP or sa Showtime.”
But he stressed that he is actually having fun with his hosting career right now. Billy presently hosts three shows on the network, Your Face Sounds Familiar, Celebrity Playtime and It’s Showtime. “I’m enjoying what I’m doing now, nagi-enjoy ako on stage para makilala ang mag kasamahan ko na hindi ko pa nakilala before at makausap so right now I enjoy hosting sobra,” he said.
Amid his busy schedule as a host, Billy is still able to squeeze in time to making a new album. He shared that his new record is set to be released in the Philippines and maybe in France soon. “This time actually medyo naparami ng trabaho konti so I’m not complaining why na hold ng slight pero I’m actually finishing up the album tapos ila-launch ko rin ‘yung album very, very soon.”
Billy was a very well-known performer in Europe before. His single “Bright Lights” topped the charts internationally. When asked if why he chose to leave his career in Europe as a performer and settled here in the Philippines, he shared, “Siguro sa buong buhay ko I never really concentrated kung ano ang ginagawa ko at sasagarin ko na lang kung ano ang ginagawa ko. It’s pretty much ‘let like takes me’, bahala na ang Diyos, ikanga sa akin kasi when I was given the opportunity to come back to the Philippines it’s parang to give back na lang sa mga Pinoy.”
He added that he really missed the Philippines when he was working overseas so he grab he decided to take the chance when he was offered work here. “I’ve been away for more than fifteen years and nakaka-miss and to come back home when you’ve been abroad for so long - iba ang culture, iba ang audience, iba ang mga kasama mo - you tend to miss where you came from. Sa akin kasi ang turo ng tatay ko ‘You make life what you want’ so I consider myself a go getter so kung saan man may opportunity and I was offered to come back here with ABS-CBN, [so] I took and grab the opportunity.”
