As part of this year’s batch of Cinema One Originals performers, Bangs Garcia admitted she is excited for audiences to watch her romantic comedy Baka Siguro Yata directed by Joel Ferrer. "Actually it’s my first time to join (Cinema One Originals). It was very good. Yung team namin was the most fun team that I have worked with in my life. In this film, I’m portraying Melissa who is a photographer. She’s a very career-oriented and very disciplined woman until one night she did something wrong and yun na, dun nagsimula yung conflict sa life niya. I have a love team here si Dino Pastrano. Actually this is his first big break as an actor kasi he’s a commercial model and he also directs,” she told Push.com.ph.
After the film festival, Bangs said that she is flying back to Europe to be with her boyfriend who is based there. The couple went on a vacation earlier this year which took them to four countries in Europe and Asia. "Actually he just came here. He just went back to London two weeks ago and then ako naman I will be back there. He’s the most understanding person I’ve ever met. The state of my heart has never been this good. I’m very, very happy and content. I’m very happy,” she admitted.
The 27-year-old Baka Siguro Yata star said that even though she and her non-showbiz boyfriend don’t live in the same country, she does not feel like it is a long-distance relationship. "Parang hindi. Actually sa lahat ng naging relationship ko, kasi this is my third relationship eh, but then compared dun sa dalawa na taga-dito lang naman sa Pilipinas, I really feel him more. Kasi it’s my first time to be very in sync with my boyfriend. Like he’s also my best friend kasi. Not just in sync just physically but mentally and spiritually. That’s why I’m very, very happy with him and I’ve never been contented in my whole life,” she shared.
With her boyfriend’s family planning to spend Christmas in the Philippines, Bangs said this would be the first time for both their families to meet each other. When asked if this means there will also be their formal engagement, the talented actress did not deny things are getting serious between them already. “I don’t have the ring yet (laughs) pero we’ve been talking about it already. That’s what we always talk about. We talk about our future na. Future plans na talaga. In God’s time. Basta you will know. I will announce it naman,” she said.
Part of the couple’s plans also include having a home base in both Manila and the UK in the future. Bangs also plans to bring her passion for painting to another country. "He’s based in London. Actually from the start we’ve been talking about it already. Alam namin na kami na. He’s planning to build me a house here kasi he’s a property developer so he wants to build me a house here and another house there. Ayaw kasi niya maging selfish and take away what I’ve built here in Manila. Pero at the same time, kasi I’m not focusing on just being an actress kasi I’m also a painter and I’m planning to bring my painting to London. So I want to go international na rin talaga. I want to bring pride to the Philippines through my paintings,” she explained.
Watch the participating indie films in this year's Cinema One Originals film festival from November 9 to 17 which will be screened at cinemas in Trinoma, Glorietta, Resorts World, and SM Megamall.
