Aiko Melendez bags second international Best Actress award for indie film


102415-AIKO.jpgActress Aiko Melendez took to her Instagram account on Friday afternoon, October 23, to share how happy she was for bagging the Best Actress award at the 2015 International Film Festival in Manhattan for the movie, Asintado. 

She wrote, unedited, “We made it!!!! Just got a text from direk @lagdameolouie who is now in Manhattan that I won for International Film Festival Manhattan for best actress for our movie #asintado Thank you Lord Jesus!!!”



After thanking a handful of people who supported her, the actress also congratulated the movie’s director, Louie Ignacio for winning Best Director.

This is not the first time that Aiko won an international award for the 2014 Cinemalaya entry. 

  
Aiko, who will also be in the upcoming Star Cinema movie Everyday I Love You, was recently seen in the movie, Etiquette for Mistresses and in the defunct late afternoon teleserye, Inday Bote.
