Will Erik Santos try dancing?

102315-ERIK_main.jpgIn an interview with PUSH.com.ph after the bloggers conference and listening session of the first part of Erik Santos’s new album, Champion Reborn, the singer shared why the carrier single, “Tandaan Mo ‘To” featuring rapper Gloc 9 was his most memorable collaboration in the album.

Kasi kakaiba. First time kong marecord ng ganoon klase na song and first time ko maka-collab with the greatest rapper today who is Gloc 9,” he explained.

Erik said that the Filipino rapper was his choice for the collaboration. “Actually, ‘nung natanggap namin ‘yung song, meron siyang rap part. Hindi na kami nahirapan kung sino ‘yung rapper na gusto kong makacollab dito sa album na ‘to. First thing in mind, it’s Gloc 9 talaga.

Aside from Gloc 9, his new album will also feature other collaborative songs such as “Don’t Tell Me Don’t” featuring Kyle and his duet of “This I Promise You” with Angeline Quinto.

Considering that he recorded upbeat songs like “Don’t Tell Me Don’t” and “Tandaan Mo ‘To”, does this mean that Erik may want to consider dancing in the music video?

“No naman. Kung makita mo ‘yung music video ko, hindi naman siya ‘yung totally dance moves talaga eh. Ano siya, para siyang groove lang na kinoreograph. So more on hand movements tapos hindi naman talaga ako dancer pero kasi kailangan kasi ‘dun sa music video and kailangan ‘dun sa song so inincorporate namin ‘yung konting dance groove,” he replied.

In a separate PUSH report, Erik revealed that shifting to groovier music is part of his reinvention as an artist. Nonetheless, he said that he will still do his usual ballad songs.
