The "Everyday I Love You" star admits he’s waiting for his leading lady to turn 18.
With their second Star Cinema movie Everyday I Love You
coming out this month, Enrique Gil revealed he and leading lady Liza Soberano wanted to give their fans a different kind of LizQuen.
"Siguro the genre kasi usually it’s rom-com, ito kasi rom-drama. They wanted us to be more mature so it’s a more serious role. Ako kasi makulit, maloko so gusto ko light lang. Dito we had to be really serious, something that people never saw before. Yun ang mahirap sa akin to be serious to the story. Kasi depende din sa role kung paano magpapakilig di ba? Hindi naman porke’t next project same pa rin yung pagpapakilig. Iba yung atake mo and it’s always hard to find new ways especially sa character mo. But yun yung challenge dun,” he said during the Everyday I Love You grand presscon held last October 18 inside ABS-CBN.
In the film, Quen plays a career oriented guy named Ethan who starts falling for Audrey, a girl he met in Bacolod.
"Sa situation pa ng characters namin, of course dito may boyfriend si Liza and yung characters namin very critical ang each scene. Kung may kilig scenes hindi puwedeng sobra kasi may boyfriend siya, mali naman yun so very critical each scene pero nandun si direk (Mae Cruz) to guide us and there are great actors here so ayun,” he explained.
Off-camera, Quen said he never fails to tell Liza that he loves her.
“Everyday naman ako eh. Walang araw na hindi. Everyday of course. We’re really close, really, really close. We’re just happy na magkasama kami sa mga projects. We get to spend a lot of time together. 17 pa po siya. Upcoming na yung birthday niya so we’re counting down. Nandito lang ako. Totoo lang yung sinasabi namin. Honest kami, we’re just happy,” he shared.
