One thing is certain, Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo won’t be appearing at any presidential campaign sortie come next year.
This was revealed by Sarah herself in an Inquirer article by saying that she won’t be campaigning for any presidential candidate.
“I want to take a break from it,” she said.
Sarah once supported Nacionalista Party’s tandem of Manny Villar and Loren Legarda back in 2010.
The only reason that could probably change her mind is when she becomes “more knowledgeable” about politics.
“I [would] get involved in that again if [I become more knowledgeable] about politics. I want to learn as much as I can about it first,” she explained.
A previous interview with Sarah said that she chose the Villar-Legarda tandem for their intention to push for women and OFW rights. At the time, Sarah shared that she feels honored to be tapped by the party to represent them.
Sarah offered a few words of advice to celebrities who might be promoting politicians in next year’s national elections.
“Make sure to know as much as you can about the candidate before agreeing to help promote his or her cause. Never say ‘yes’ to doing it just for the money. It’s important that you also believe in the person’s advocacies. After all, he or she will help shape the country’s future,” she said.
