Manny Pacquiao wants to be the President of the Philippines

101715-MANNY2_main.jpgOn the Yes or No segment of Bandila, People’s Champ and Sarangani Congressman Manny Pacquiao answered whether he will be retiring from boxing if he is successful in his bid for a Senate seat.

Manny will be running for the Senate in the 2016 elections under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) party of Vice-President Jejomar Binay. He filed for his Certificate of Candidacy on October 16.

Pamilya at pagseserbisyo.”

Asked whether his answer means he will be retiring from boxing, Manny nodded and said, “busy na yan. Next year, 38 (years old) na ako.”

On whether he believes Vice-President Binay is corrupt or not, Manny answered, “it’s hard to judge.”

Asked whether his boxing match this coming March 2016 will be his last, Manny says, “yes.”

Does Manny wants a rematch with Floyd Mayweather? Manny says, “Yes, if there is a chance.”

Are talks underway to make the rematch with Mayweather possible? Manny said, “pinaplano na mag-uusap.”

Does Manny want to be the President of the Republic of the Philippines? Manny at first said, “wala sa isip ko ngayon yan,” but he eventually relents and says “yes, sino ba naman ang ayaw mag-serbisyo.

Will he quit as a basketball coach if he wins a seat in the Senate? Manny saidno. “Isang oras lang naman yun,” he added.

What satisfies Manny more, boxing or politics? Manny said, “sa boxing masaya ako na nagbibigay karangalan sa bansa. Ang politics, it’s showing your love through actions.”

Has Manny seen anyone in boxing that is fit to be called the next People’s Champ? Manny said one of his thrusts when he becomes a Senator is to support sports and our athletes. As he saud, “I think sports ang mukha ng bansa natin.” Manny concluded, “May nakikita ako na mga bata pa, mga baguhan.”
