‘It’s Showtime’ invades Cebu
101715-SHOWTIMEcebu_main.jpgThousands of Cebuanos joined the It’s Showtime family at Hoops Dome, Lapu-Lapu, Cebu today, October 17, 2015. The noontime show rocked the Visayas town with non-stop performances and thrilling segments.

The show started off in a festive mood with a Sinulog-themed opening production number. Everyone was on their feet as the hosts grooved to the beat of festive dance tunes. After the opening number, the madlang Cebuanos showcased their singing talents with “Singing Mo ‘To.” The crowd was then entertained by the ‘70s band The Boyfriends singing their timeless hit “Sumayaw Sumunod.”

Jugs and Teddy joined Cebu’s Crazy Duo in a comedy production number. Meanwhile, Billy and Vhong made everyone kilig with their Dance Craze number with the Cebuano kids. The madlang Cebuanos screamed their hearts out when Everyday I Love You stars Liza Soberano, Enrique Gil, and Gerald Anderson fired up the dance floor with their “Cheerleader” number.

Today was also the “Lip Swak Olympics” championship. The segment was judged by Karla Estrada, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Randy Santiago. Team Suave composed of Archie Alemania and Kamille Filoteo; Team Ganda composed of Ahron Villena and TJ Valderrama; and Team Diyosa composed of Aira Bermudez and Manuel Chua battled out in the finale. Team Diyosa was declared as the champion and brought home 200,000 pesos.

Pinoy rap stars Abra and Andrew E also entertained the Cebu crowd with their fliptop and rap numbers. Abra performed his hit song “Gayuma” while Andrew E. performed his all time-popular song “Humanap Ka Ng Pangit.”

Ms. Pastillas Angelica Jane Yap finally chose her Mr. Pastillas. From the three aspirants of Mike, Topher, and Chard, Ms. Pastillas picked Chard. Randy Santiago performed “I Knew I Loved You” for Angelica and Chard’s first dance on the show.

Host Billy Crawford said he considers it as a blessing to be able to bring the show to Cebu. “Masaya [ako], it started in Araneta tapos we went to Laguna, now we’re in Cebu and alam ko there are talks that we are supposed to go to Davao. Actually [it’s] just a blessing na we get to see ‘yung hindi lang sa Manila-based, sa studio. Dumaan na sa Hawaii ang Showtime, dumaan na sa Canada, sa Dubai so parang why not in our country di ba? Para mas masaya naman kapag nandito naman sa Pilipnas pero sa mga probinsya ng Pilipinas,” he said.

Coleen Garcia shared that they always love it when they go to out-of-town shows. “You know we always look forward to travelling together as a team kasi don kami nakaka-bond eh kasi usually in this show once the show is over we go on our separate ways, may kanya-kanyang trabaho din, may kanya-kayang schedule so it’s good that we put everything down and we all came here together, we are all sleeping in the same place, bonding talaga kaming lahat,” she said.

Anne, who usually goes to Cebu solo for her concerts, was thrilled to have the whole It’s Showtime family with her this time. “Kasi tuwing pupupunta ako dito, laging for my own concert pero now I’m here with the whole Showtime family kaya alam mo ‘yung iba na naman ‘yung vibe, iba na naman ‘yung nakita kong reaction from the madlang Cebuanos so I’m very excited,” she stated.
