Sam Milby and Jennylyn Mercado have yet to pick a politician that they would campaign for.
Despite the intensifying election fever, The Prenup
co-stars Sam Milby and Jennylyn Mercado said they have yet to back up a politician. (This week marks the filing period of certificate of candidacy at the Commission of Elections.)
Certain stars have also revealed who they would be campaigning for come next year's national elections. Among them were Angel Locsin who's rallying for her uncle Representative Neri Colmenares, as husband and wife Paul and Toni Soriano expressed their support for Vice Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos.
Heart Evangelista naturally backed up her husband Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero on his vice presidential bid while musician Chito Miranda claimed that he would only offer his support pro bono either for Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, who claimed that he's not running, or Senator Miriam Santiago, who just announced her plan to run as president last October 13.
But for Jennylyn and Sam, they would only endorse politicians who are sincerely keen on looking after the common good.
"Siyempre 'yung makatao, 'yung maiintindihan rin nila kung ano ang pinagdaraanan ng mga Pilipino at siyempre 'yung gagawa pa ng move para mas mapaganda ang ekonomiya," said Jennylyn in an interview during their new movie's premiere night.
The Fil-American heartthrob for his part stressed that the public servant he would support should be "Hindi 'yung puro salita lang. Dapat 'yung sincere
Jennylyn, for her part, underscored that the next leader of the nation should be someone who could instill discipline in the entire country.
"Ang pinaka-importante kasi sa mga Pilipino 'yung disiplina eh. Kung maghahanap tayo ng bagong leader natin dapat 'yung talagang madidisiplina tayong mga Pilipino
," she said.
"Hindi 'yung hindi natatakot kasi wala namang mangyayari. 'Yung talagang madidisiplina tayong lahat at matatakot tayong gumawa ng mali,
" she ended.
