Since last year, there have been reports that Luis plans to run for a seat in office in Batangas where his mom Vilma Santos-Recto is the incumbent Governor. On this, he said, “Siguro it’s about 60/ 40. 60 na baka medyo hindi muna.” One of the reasons for his hesitation is his full work schedule next year. He said that it would be unfair to his constituents if he would not be able to give his full attention to his duties as a public servant. Furthermore, he stated that it is currently better for him to save his money for when he finally decides to run, so as to be able to personally fund his campaign. Luis said he fully supports the candidacy of his father, Edu Manzano, who is running for Senator next year. Host Boy Abunda confirmed what Luis said in his interview. According to Boy, he visited Luis at the taping of Deal or No Deal minutes before TWBA started. As per his conversation with Luis, Luis indeed was considering running for office, but has decided not to.
