Turning 19 years old this October 17, Karen recalled solid Karenatics giving her a formal 18th birthday. “Hindi ko ineexpect na magkakaroon ng pa-debut sila, ng formal debut. Na as in may 18 shots, 18 gifts, 18 lahat. Hindi ko ineexpect na pinauwi pa nila ‘yung family ko from Mindoro para lang makasama ko sila sa araw ng birthday ko,” she narrated. Moreover, she said that she owes her success to them. “Sobrang pagpapasalamat ko po sa kanila talaga dahil kung hindi sa kanila, talagang wala po siguro ako dito.” Aware that her supporters come from different locations, Karen, in return, would hold #AskKaren sessions on Twitter and would even follow back. “Siyempre magkakalayo sila, may taga-Laguna, may taga-Tarlac, may iba-ibang lugar, tweet. Nagpapa-ask Karen ako minsan. Alam mo ‘yun, simpleng #AskKaren, okay na sila. Solb na sila… Follow back, ganon.” Furthermore, she said that she treats her fans, who would organize get-togethers annually, as family already, “Tapos ‘pag get-together, syempre minamaximize ko po ‘yung time na makakasama ko sila. Sobra talagang parang pamilya na rin ‘yung turing ko talaga sa kanila.”
