Richard Gomez admitted he was thrilled to be working with again with his ka-love team for over two decades Dawn Zulueta. “It’s good, it’s exciting, it’s a story about family and conflicts and it’s a good drama teleserye. We are very excited dahil bagong teleserye na naman ‘to and kami ni Dawn ang magkasama and we’re happy kasi we’re coming from of course Walang Hanggan then Love Affair, sana suportahan,” Richard said.
With successful teleseryes and movies to their credit, is there any pressure on his part for this project to be a hit? “Actually hindi dapat ma-pressure, if you’ll ask me, ang importante sa akin maganda lagi ‘yung project na naiibigay sa audience and for as long as maganda ‘yung pwede naming ibigay sa viewers namin there should not be any pressure.”
As to what new thing CharDawn can to offer to their fans this time, Richard responded, “I don’t know kung ano pa ‘yung hindi nila nakita sa amin but I like the story kasi the story revolves around the family, lalo na ‘yung part na very serious, ‘yung nakidnap ‘yung anak namin and allegedly nag-kidnap is ‘yung kalaban namin na family sa politika.”
On his role in the soap, he relayed, “I’m the husband of Dawn [in the soap], we have three kids, si Jessy (Mendiola), si Paul (Salas), and si Sam (Concepcion). And I play a lawyer and eventually I will run as mayor in this teleserye and will run against ‘yung family na kumidnap sa anak namin.”
With a thriving career and years of showbiz experience, what was it like working with the new generation of stars? “Well it’s good to see that they are very serious about their craft, dedicated about their work and that’s the way it should be. Kailangan talaga mahalin mo ‘yung trabaho mo eh to stay long in this industry and I can see that in them. Masipag sila, they’re on time, they give the directors what they want them to do,” he said.
